My decades on the border have instilled in me a profound love and respect for Mexican food, and in that spirit much of my focus on Beyond Mere Sustenance is on Mexican food and ingredients.
I am not attempting to re-create abuelita’s best recipes, rather I seek to create new recipes that represent the bounty of south-of-the-border ingredients and flavors.
