Salsas

This salsa recipes category features both traditional salsas, and unique salsa recipes. Most (but not all) have a Latin vibe. “Salsa” literally translated means “sauce,” but it’s also used for “condiment.”

One of my most popular salsas is this Peruvian yellow sauce (aka huancaina sauce). Ají amarillo paste provides the vivid yellow color, and it’s perfect on Peruvian potatoes.

This Hatch green chile and tomatillo salsa is a seasonal favorite during Hatch green chile season, and my “go to” salsa for smoked pork tacos, leftover pulled pork tacos, and lengua tacos.

Last, but not least, are the salsa recipes that feature unique or unfamiliar ingredients like goldenberry salsa, tamarillo salsa, and kumquat salsa. If you’re a fan of homemade salsas, you’ll want to see them all!
